BHBR Country Week 2023 Triples at Central Wendouree Bowling Club
Men’s and Women’s Triples events took centre stage on Wednesday, 8th February 2023 as BHBR Country Week 2023 continued at Central Wendouree Bowling Club.
A total of 12 men’s teams (4 sections of 3 teams) and 6 women’s (2 sections of 3 teams) gathered for the day’s play and once again the weather was ideal for bowling, although the greens quickened throughout the day as the sun reared its welcome head.
In the Men’s Triples, Patrick Cashin, Luke Molloy, Bill Harrison (Waubra), Jim Taylor, Graeme Perry, Ron Leishman (Smeaton), John Matusik, Ross Prictor, Stephen Hepworth (Creswick) and Trevor Jones, John Moroney, Stephen Riley (Invermay) all won their sections, advancing to the Semi Finals on Friday, 10th February 2023 at 9.30am.
The Final is scheduled for around 11.30am, but it is dependent on other matches and whether players are in multiple finals on the day.
In the Women’s Triples, Smeaton and Clunes will play off in the Women’s Triples Final on Friday at 2.00pm.
Smeaton’s Barbara Adam, Suzanne Lafranchi and Helen Mizzeni won both their Section 1 matches to advance to the final, while Clunes trio Jenny Cameron, Valerie Jackson and Eileen Spong were Section 2 winners, also winning both matches.
It promises to be a great match between two in form teams.
