Victoria and Gisborne advance to Champion of State Pennant finals in Moama
The 2023-2024 BHBR Saturday and Tuesday pennant region finals were held on Sunday, 17th March 2024 at Kyneton Bowling Club with fine weather and quick greens the order of the day.
Kyneton Golf (Highlands) played Victoria (Ballarat) in the Saturday Pennant region final and Gisborne (Highlands) faced Webbcona (Ballarat) in the Tuesday Pennant region final.
Victoria continued their strong recent form proving too good for a gallant Kyneton Golf on the day.
They won by 15 shots overall with Brenton Coad’s rink winning by 8 shots, Barry Clark by 4 and Craig Ford by 3, advancing to the 2023-34 Champion of State Pennant championships at Moama Bowling Club in early May.
Gisborne will be heading to Moama alongside Victoria after demolishing Webbcona by 27 shots in the Tuesday Pennant play off.
Terry Kelly’s rink scored a massive 26 shot win which proved decisive in the wash up, while Alan Higgins rink managed a 9 shot victory along the way.
Sarah Braybrook’s rink defeated the Ethan Higgins rink by 8 shots and was Webbcona’s best performed rink on the day.
