BHBR results from 2024 State Championships
The Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region had a number of bowlers contest the 2024 State Championships from Saturday, 13th April to Sunday, 21st April, 2024 at Bendigo East Bowling Club in Bendigo.
BHBR players contested Singles, Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Triples and Fours, along with the Champion of Champions Singles.
Webbcona’s Ben McArthur performed strongly in the Men’s Champion of Champions Singles making it down to the last four before going down by 7 shots in a hard fought semi final clash against eventual winner, Kangaroo Flat’s Brad Marron.
In the Women’s Champion of Champions Singles, Michelle Tait bowed out in a quarter final to Altona’s Brooke Edwards, who also went on to win the title.
Interestingly enough, City Oval’s Elizabeth Kierce and Sally McCracken and Sebastopol’s Greg Brown and Ian Warner got knocked out in the Women’s Pairs and Men’s Pairs quarter finals respectively by eventual winners Northern Gateway’s Nicholle Wendt and Julie Fitt and Strzelecki’s William McIlwain and James Scullin.
