Kyneton Golf beat Romsey to make it back-to-back Highlands Div 1 Saturday Pennant wins

Kyneton Golf Bowling Club has taken out back-to-back Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region titles in the Highlands playing area with a dominant win over Romsey Bowling Club.

The grand final was played on Sunday, 10th March 2024 at Lancefield Bowling Club and Kyneton Golf won all three rinks on the day.

Ray Wilkinson’s rink defeated Matt Brundell’s rink 21-15, while the Adrian Plowman rink beat Cameron Austin’s rink 25-10, with Anthony Barker’s rink rounding out the rout with a 22-19 victory over Aaron Young’s rink.

It was a massive 42 shot turnaround from the second semi final result two weeks ago where Romsey defeated Kyneton Golf 64-46 at Romsey.

Congratulations to Kyneton Golf who will now represent the Highlands in the Region pennant final against Victoria Bowling Club (Ballarat) at Kyneton Bowling Club this coming Sunday, 17th March 2024 commencing at 1.00pm.

The winner of this match will go on to represent the region at the Bowls Victoria Champion of State Pennant championships in May.

Please note that this match will comprise 3 rinks of four players (not 4 rinks).

23-24 Div 2 Saturday Pennant

Kyneton Golf defeated Romsey by 20 shots in the Division 2 Grand Final played on Saturday, 9th March 2024 at Kyneton Bowling Club.

Just like their Division 1 counterparts, Kynteon Golf got all three rinks up to score a resounding victory.

Colin Scott’s rink defeated the John beaumont rink 23-17, with Richard Buckley’s rink 26-15 over Glen Marshall’s rink, and John Trounce’s rink managed a 20-17 win over Simon Mayger’s rink.

23-24 Div 3 Saturday Pennant

Lancefield defeated Gisborne by 12 shots to win Division 3 Grand Final played on Saturday, 9th March 2024 at Kyneton Bowling Club.

Lancefield also got all three rinks up in the grand final with the Keith Webb rink winning 21-15 over Vlod Cyrulo’s rink, Geoff Stewart rink 24-23 over Tom Woodcock rink and Peter Shannon rink 19-14 over the Chris Butterly rink.
