BHBR @ 2023 Region Sides Championships (Moama) – Day 3

Day 3 of the 2023 Region Sides Championships took place on Saturday, 28th May 2023 in Moama with Rounds 6, 7 and Finals concluding the event.

After 7 rounds, the Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region men’s side finished sixth on the ladder and our women finished third.

Both our sides performed strongly against the best region sides from across the state.

BHBR MEN

The BHBR men lost their Round 6 match by 15 shots to the West Coast Bowls Region, while their Round 7 fixture was abandoned due to inclement weather.

They finished with 2 wins and 4 losses in their six matches with the highlight a victory over the Geelong Region in Round 1.

Men’s Ladder

BHBR WOMEN

The BHBR women headed into the final two rounds sitting second on the table with pivotal matches against third placed West Coast and fourth placed Mornington Peninsula.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan for our ladies, with West Coast defeating BHBR by 3 shots and Mornington Peninsula getting home by 6 shots, leaving the BHBR women in third place after 7 rounds, just missing out on a final’s berth.

It was an impressive performance by our ladies with 4 wins and 3 losses over the 7 rounds.
