BHBR @ 2023 Region Sides Championships (Moama) – Day 2
The Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region men’s and women’s teams played three matches on Day 2 of the 2023 Region Sides Championships in Moama with mixed results.
BHBR MEN
In the men’s division, a solid 38-26 win over Strzelecki was followed up by consecutive losses to Wimmera (28-38) and Gippsland (35-43).
They sit fifth on the ladder with 2 wins and three losses after five rounds, and a -10 shots difference, needing to win both matches on Sunday to figure in a top two berth to reach the final.

BHBR WOMEN
In the women’s section, they scored top wins over Metro West (40-17), Wimmera (38-31) and Gippsland (33-27) in their three matches and sit second on the ladder behind Geelong after 5 rounds.
They have 4 wins and 1 loss with an excellent 32 shots up, second best in the Silver section.
Matches against 3rd placed West Coast and 4th placed Mornington Peninsula in the final two rounds will determine their final’s fortunes tomorrow.
A first-up win over West Coast will put them in strong contention for a top two final position and a chance to play off in the final.
