Ballarat Gold Diggers Under 18 bowlers showcase their talents on Grand Final Day

Six Ballarat Gold Diggers got the chance to showcase their emerging bowling skills to a strong contingent of family, friends and bowls lovers at Sebastopol Bowling Club on Sunday, 12th March 2023 as a precursor to the Division 1 Grand Final.

The team of Addy Ryan (Learmonth Bowling Club), Micah Oswin (Victoria Bowls Club) and Jack Lennecke (Ballarat Bowling Club) played an entertaining game of triples against Oscar Jones (Yarraville Footscray Bowling Club), Xavier Hanrahan (Bungaree Bowling Club) and Logan Mattei (Ballarat North Bowling Club).

Addy’s team combined well to win on the day, however, the score was of little relevance, as it’s all about showcasing the talents of our junior bowlers and everyone in attendance was treated to a level of bowls equivalent to what took place afterwards.

Gold Diggers coordinator Marc Oswin had a busy day preparing the young bowlers for the early game before readying himself for the later game, where his club, Victoria, took on BMS in the Grand Final.

It was a successful day for Marc on both fronts with the Gold Diggers delighting the crowd in the morning and Victoria steamrolling BMS in the afternoon.

Congratulations to Victoria Bowling Club on their win and to Ballarat Memorial Sports Bowling Club – a fantastic season and a very strong performance in the finals.
