Gold Diggers head to Smeaton this Sunday for 2023 Ballarat-Bendigo Shield

The Ballarat Gold Diggers head to Smeaton Bowling Club on Sunday, 12th February 2023 to tackle the Bendigo Dragons for the 2023 Ballarat-Bendigo Shield.

Their opponents are in hot form following recent success in the Provincial Championships at Daylesford last month, with the Dragons taking out the Flapper Shield.

However, the Gold Diggers can’t be counted out after pushing the Dragons the whole way in their sectional encounter, going down by just 5 shots in a hard-fought battle.

Match format for Sunday’s event is 5 teams of triples from each side playing three rounds of 12 ends.

Both regions will meet for registration at 9:30am with the first round commencing at 10:00am.

The two squads will share a BBQ lunch before heading out for hopefully an exciting last round to decide the day’s winner.
