Ballarat Gold Diggers contesting Junior Provincial Championship this Wednesday at Daylesford

The Ballarat Gold Diggers head to Daylesford Bowling Club on Wednesday, 18th February 2023 to contest the Junior Provincial Championship against fellow junior bowlers from around the state.

Bowls Victoria runs several junior events around Victoria each year and they provide an excellent way for players under the age of 18 to develop their playing skills and gain experience in competitive bowling events.

Victoria’s Marc Oswin is facilitating the Ballarat Gold Diggers team on Wednesday and expects the Ballarat Highlands juniors to be more than competitive.

“We’ve put together a team with a wide range in age and experience and hopefully we perform well on the day,” Marc said.

“These events are more about enjoyment and gaining experience for junior bowlers and our squad is looking forward to the event.”

“It will be the last chance for our current Victorian Representatives, Oscar Jones and Dusty Taylor-Irwin, to take part in the event, so they will be looking to finish their time with the Gold Diggers on a high.

“We have a few subs to rotate throughout the day as a number of our squad are quite young and inexperienced.”

Dusty Taylor-Irwin, Oscar Jones, Addy Ryan, Micah Oswin, Paddy Morvell, Hannah Morvell, Boyd Browning, Xavier Hanrahan, Nathan Dubberley, Jack Lennecke, Jack Baldwin, Harry Sands and Logan Mattei.

The Gold Diggers are in Section 1 alongside Bendigo, Gippsland and Goulburn Murray teams.
