BHBR Ladies’ Teams for 2022-2023 Boromeo/Lucas Shield at Smeaton

The Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region ladies’ teams have been announced for the Boromeo/Lucas Shield against Bendigo/Campaspe/Goldfields on Wednesday, 7th December 2022 at Smeaton Bowling Club.

After 5 years of the trophy going to Bendigo, Ballarat managed to get their hands on the Shield in 2022, so it will be a very tough contest this year.

The BHBR selectors have put together what they consider their best 24 girls here in Ballarat.

There have been a few new names chosen to represent the Region for the first time.

Young Addy Ryan from Learmonth Bowling Club, Jill Hopper from Victoria, and two ladies from Clunes who have been bowling well this season, Jody Lythgo and Eileen Spong.

Young Dusty Taylor Irwin, the State Under 18 Champion, has been promoted to the play third to skip Leah MacArthur.

They join our more experienced bowlers in Anne Draffen, Leah MacArthur, Elizabeth Kierce and Sarah Braybrook.

The match starts at 10.45 with trial ends, then 21 ends, with lunch break at 12.30pm before presentations following the day’s play.

Official start time is 11.00am, with 21 ends format and lunch break at 12.30pm, with presentations following the day’s play.
