2022/2023 BHBR Men’s Over 60 Singles down to Final Four
It’s down to four players in the 2022-23 BHBR Over 60 Men’s Singles event following the completion of Round 3 & Quarter Final matches on Thursday, 20th October 2022 at Sebastopol Bowling Club.
Unfortunately, Sebastopol Bowling Club is unable to hold Day 3 of the Over 60 Singles event and Ballarat North has kindly stepped in to hold all Final’s matches next week.
Semi Finals are scheduled for 9.30am start on Thursday, 27th October 2022 at Ballarat North Bowling Club, with the Grand Final pencilled in for 12.30pm in the afternoon.
BHBR 22/23 Over 60 Men’s Singles
In the first Semi Final, Greg Plier (Midlands) faces Shane Crimmins (Diggers Rest), while the second Semi Final pits Noel Verlinden (Victoria) up against Ian Warner (Sebastopol).
The four Quarter Finals were hotly contested with quality bowling the order of the day.
Midlands Greg Plier had a great tussle with Buninyong’s Brian Johnson, winning 21-18 in a closely fought match, as did Diggers Rest Shane Crimmins, beating Sebastopol’s John Garvin by just one shot (21-20) in a thrilling finish.
Victoria’s Noel Verlinden had experience on his side winning 21-12 against Buninyong’s Brad Mahoney, who was gallant in defeat, while Ian Warner had the unenviable task of dethroning last year’s winner, City Oval’s Wayne Roberts, and proved up to the task, winning 21-13 in a top contest.
