2022/2023 BHBR Women’s Over 60 Singles commence at Sebastopol Bowling Club

The 2022/2023 Ballarat Highlands Women’s Over 60 Singles event commenced on Thursday, 13th October 2022 at Sebastopol Bowling Club with a small field of 9 bowlers entered for the event.

There was only one match played in Round 1 and it featured City Oval’s Liz Kierce up against Gisborne’s Teresa Wylie.

In what turned out to be a thrilling contest played in great spirit, Liz got over the line by just one shot in a nail-biting finish, snaring 2 shots on the last end to gain a narrow 21-20 victory.

Liz meets Victoria’s Jill Hopper in the Quarter Finals next week on Thursday, 20th October 2022 at Sebastopol Bowling Club.

Unfortunately, Digger’s Rest entrant, Faye Bonnici, has had to withdraw from the event, paving the way for Webbcona’s Helen Williams to advance through to the Semi Finals without having to play her Quarter Final match.

Played at 9.30am.

Semi Final matches will follow at 12.00pm in the afternoon.

The Women’s Over 60 Singles Grand Final is scheduled for Thursday, 27th October 2022 at a venue yet to be finalised.
