2021-2022 BHBR Mixed Pairs kicks off at Kyneton

Kyneton Bowling Club & the Kyneton Golf Bowling Club hosted the first two rounds of the 2021-2022 Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region Mixed Pairs championship on Sunday with both greens being complimented by participating bowlers as being in great condition.

The Gisborne pair of Dorothy Evans and Ethan Higgins won through both their morning and afternoon matches and will progress onto Round 3 next Sunday morning at Kyneton bowling club.

They won their first match against Ballarat’s Victoria Bowling Club pair of Helene Stenning and Noel Verlinden, with a comfortable win by 5 shots (17-12) and in the afternoon’s game they had a narrow victory by 2 shots, winning 15 to 13 against the composite combination of Christine Plowman (Kyneton BC) and Adrian Plowman (Kyneton Golf).

The pair of Denise Knight (Kyneton) and Ray Wilkinson (Kyneton Golf) narrowly lost their afternoon match against Ballarat’s City Oval Elizabeth Kierce and Gary Johnson (Webbcona).

Kyneton Bowling Club will continue to host the remainder of the BHBR Mixed Pairs championships with Round 3 and the Quarter Finals to be played on Sunday 6th March and the Semi Finals and Final scheduled for Sunday 13th March.
