Essendon defeat Sebastopol in VBL3 Quarter Final Qualifier

The Sebastopol Bowling Club’s VBL3 Qualifier Event winners from last weekend’s sectional play made the trek to Dandenong Club on Saturday, 13th July 2024 to play Essendon in a quarter final clash for the chance to snare the 16th spot up for grabs in VBL3.

The selected team included Sebastopol’s Paul Lovell, Anthony Beacham, Tim Beacham, Daniel Nestor and Glenn Mattei, along with David Berry from BMS.

Pairs and Triples were played first, followed by Singles and Fours.

Essendon hit the ground running with Koby Cromie and Anthony Flapper defeating Paul Lovell and David Berry by 9 shots in the Pairs, while Ryan Kearns, Mason Bayliss and Michael Stevenson were 12 shot winners over Daniel Nestor, Tim Beacham, Glenn Mattei in the Triples.

In the Singles, Paul Lovell went down by 2 shots to Koby Cromie in a valiant effort, before Essendon completed the clean sweep by winning the Fours.

Ryan Kearns, Mason Bayliss, Michael Stevenson and Anthony Flapper scored a 7 shot victory against Anthony Beacham, Tim Beacham, David Berry and Glenn Mattei.
