Webbcona’s Sarah Braybrook captures 2023-2024 BHBR Women’s Singles title
Webbcona’s Sarah Braybrook has captured the 2023-2024 Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region’s Women’s Singles title on Sunday, 11th February 2024 at the Ballarat East Bowling Club.
The afternoon final saw Sarah taking on Ballarat’s Kathryn (Rhiannon) Williams and the Webbcona bowler took command right from the start of the game playing long ends with precision draw bowling that her opponent struggled to match, resulting in the game being decided after the thirteenth end.
The Ballarat East green bowled well all day and quickened in the afternoon final as the afternoon heat increased.
In the morning’s semi finals it was a closer contest with Rhiannon defeating Learmonth’s young star Addy Ryan by 8 shots, winning 25 to 17 whilst Sarah edged out City Oval’s Elizabeth Kierce by 9 shots, with a 25 to 16 scoreline.
Congratulations to Sarah Braybrook on winning the 23-24 BHBR Women’s Singles and now heads to Bendigo in April to represent the region in the State Championships.
